Mission:
The WNRRV works to empower women and girls and organize for social justice. The WNRRV envisions a diverse community of feminists that honors women and girls and promotes equality and reproductive rights.
Organizational "Herstory":
In the early 1980's a small group of women began meeting regularly in Moorhead, Minnesota to discuss pay equity, access to higher education, women and business, and reproductive rights. The group decided by consensus to form Women’s Network of the Red River Valley (WNRRV), a non-profit 501 (c)(3). Over the past three decades, the WNRRV has continued to focus on those issues upon which the organization was founded.
The WNRRV has a “herstory” of bringing a diverse group of women and organizations together to build women's collective power by organizing around issues which are affecting their daily lives. The WNRRV provides grassroots organizing, research and education on policies affecting women, families and communities.
WNRRV focuses on issues in regard to:
- Economic Justice
- Reproductive and Sexual Rights
- Political Participation
- LGBT Equality
- Racial Equality
- Access to Higher Education
- Access to Quality Healthcare
